The hair of a person is often referred to the crowning glory of the person. However, it is not possible to have a mane of crowning glory without its right maintenance. So it is important to follow a few hair washing tips so that your hair grows to its best.
It is a known fact that using conditioners after shampooing helps in conditioning the hair. However, to enhance the effects of the conditioner, it is better to use cold water to rinse the hair. This is because the cold water helps in retaining the shine of the hair by shutting down the cuticles of the scalp.
When choosing your hair care products, it is better to choose quality serum products. This is because the more expensive hair serums are found to be more soluble in water. With this, it is easier to wash out this serum than the serum found in cheaper hair products. The serum that remains in the hair can lead to the damage of the texture of the hair.
Another hair washing tip is one where you have to use an absorbent towel to wipe your hair after washing it. In fact, it is better to wrap the hair with the towel so that the water is absorbed. With this the absorbent towel absorbs most of the water, and thus, cuts down the drying time for hair. With this, any possible damage to the hair is avoided. In fact, if you intend to use the hairdryer, it is better to use the hairdryer to dry your hair after you towel dry the hair first.
Using intensive conditioners at least once a week when washing hair. Some women with fine hair don't use conditioners, which is wrong on their part. Remember, using an intensive conditioner once a week is a great way of giving your hair a treat.
When washing hair, it is important that you wet your hair thoroughly before applying shampoo to it. This is necessary so that much washing is not needed to bring lather to your hair. But when washing your hair, make it a point to use warm water, and not hot water. Hot water tends to make the hair brittle.
When washing your hair, there is no point in using excess shampoo with the intention of bringing lots of lather. This excess shampoo only causes depletion of the oil and moisture of the hair. When shampooing, it is necessary that you massage the shampoo into the scalp using a light massage with your finger tips. With this, the medication in the shampoo is absorbed by the scalp.
After shampooing, don't forget the important hair washing tip of washing the hair thoroughly so that there is no soap residue in the hair. This hair residue only causes harm to the scalp and hair roots as the chemicals remain in contact with the hair for a long time. If you follow these hair washing tips you are guaranteed to have healthy and lustrous hair throughout your life.

Very informative and great advice.
ReplyDeleteAnother great tip to having strong and nice hair is to avoid shampooing your hair when not necessary and instead jus use a cleansing conditioner. You can make one by mixing your favorite conditioner with a teaspoon of vinegar and 1/4 cup of lime juice. I have tried it and it works great.
Also a great conditioning treatment for your hair is 'Queen Helene Cholesterol Hot Oil Treatment.' Jus bought it last weekend and used it yesterday when i was washing my hair and it detangled my hair and made it very soft.
Interesting article. With my hair I use nexus products and can't remember the others because some are spanish products which works excellent for my hair care treatment. On another note don't blow dry your hair or use rubberbands to often because it damages your hair.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the article. Also because I too have natural hair it was very enlightening.
ReplyDeleteSheniqua, you've offer your natural remedies on several blogs. Great!
ReplyDeleteAs someone with natural hair who do all the work on it myself, I am interested in this topic. I tend to keep it simple though. Shampoo and condition and done.
You ladies really go through a lot taking care of your hair. You all have a wealth of tips to share. Being a man with short hair I only use "Head & Shoulders" and go. It works great.
ReplyDeleteI don't have natural hair....I have tried countless times to grow my hair but I get fed up along the way. Actually I cut my hair flat! lol I did however enjoy the article. I love the eye catching pic with the woman caring for her man's hair! For anyone of you with hair breakage..use fresh cut aloe to steam. It works!!
ReplyDeleteI love your article, very insightful, when i looked at the pic it made me want to call up a woman of color to wash my hair. I will use this information to assist my female friends in their efforts to care for their hair.
ReplyDeleteSo i guess guys don't need hair care?
there are a few who have long hair...i know it sounds metro-sexual but the market does exist.....just a thought. :)
Well i admire you females, all that care for your hair is a lot of work. A few times i tried "bussing my roots" but I got fed up and keep cutting them. Maybe once in a while I'd let them reach the stage of twigging for a few weeks and then start over again.
ReplyDeleteSounds like good advice.. these methods coupled with the conditioners on Sheniqua's page sounds like a recipe for healthier hair to me!!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this article. I love to see beautifully maintained hair. I myself wish that I could dedicate more time to my hair, but I am always busy. It's simple for me to just put my hair in a pony tail and be fine with it. I hope that with your tips I will be able to have strong, beautiful long hair. Oh by the way, nice article. Your article is not only very detailed but also seems like you did extensive amount of research.
ReplyDeleteGreat article. It was very informative and helpful.
